LINC Origins
The Local Initiative Networking Compassion (LINC) is a charitable nonprofit, organized to bring awareness to the dangers of using illicit substances, bring education and prevention to our youth, provide life saving tools to the public, reduce stigma and assist those struggling with mental health and substance abuse disorders find recovery while supporting their families in the fight.
To attempt to break the nonproductive cycle of the Opioid Epidemic, LINC formalized a collaboration between village council, police, fire, First Responders, businesses, faith-based organizations and lay volunteers who all partner as a community to help those suffering with substance abuse disorders reclaim their lives back into their community. LINC created a safe space within our Wellington Police and Fire Stations where individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders can walk in and ask for help without fear of any legal action. Placing these individuals into effective treatment centers, orients these citizens back toward living a healthy and drug-free life. Since LINC was established over 130 individuals have been assisted with getting the help they needed.
